How to Choose Your
Oriental Beauty Tea?

From grading differences and seasonal flavors to brewing secrets, Hsu Yao-Liang Tea Garden guides you through the art of appreciating champion tea.

1. Grading System:
Stars vs. Competition Grade

The grade of Oriental Beauty Tea depends on the "degree of bug-biting by the Green Leafhopper." We strictly grade our teas based on the complexity of aroma and the delicacy of the mouthfeel.

🍃 Daily Series

⭐️ Entry Level —— Classic Initial Note

Crafted from our signature cultivar "Chin-Shin Dah-Pan", revealing natural honey and ripe fruit notes formed after the green leafhopper's visit. Despite being an entry-level tea, it retains the unique aromatic layers and elegance of Oriental Beauty Tea.
Flavor Profile: Bright amber tea soup, clear and sweet aroma, round and smooth mouthfeel with a lingering finish.

⭐️ 4 Star —— Fresh Fruity Aroma

Flavor Profile: Distinct "Fruity Aroma", sweet and smooth without bitterness.
Price Range: NT$ 4,800 - 5,600 / 600g

⭐️⭐️ 5 Star —— Elegant Floral Aroma

Flavor Profile: Aroma shifts to an elegant "Floral Note", with a finer texture and enhanced layers.
Price Range: NT$ 5,600 - 8,000 / 600g

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 Star —— Rich Honey Aroma

Flavor Profile: Higher degree of bug-biting, revealing the signature "Honey Aroma" of Oriental Beauty Tea. Full-bodied and smooth.
Price Range: NT$ 8,000 - 12,000 / 600g

🏆 Competition Grade (Selected by Mr. Hsu)

Personally selected by Mr. Hsu Yao-Liang, representing the highest quality of the tea garden. Extremely limited production.

♔ Crown —— Interwoven Honey & Fruit

Flavor Profile: Perfect blend of Honey-Floral and Honey-Fruity notes. Rich aroma and mellow taste.
Price Range: NT$ 12,000 - 24,000 / 600g

💎 Black Diamond —— Bug-Bitten & Pekoe Aroma

Flavor Profile: Unique "Zhuo Yan" (bug-bitten) aroma, Pekoe notes, and delicate honey rhyme. Texture like nectar, extremely exquisite.
Price Range: NT$ 24,000 - 36,000 / 600g

🎁 God's Gift —— Mellow & Thick

Flavor Profile: Mellow and thick mouthfeel, with a perfect balance of floral, fruity, and honey notes. A gift from nature, a flavor that cannot be replicated.
Price Range: NT$ 36,000 - 42,000 / 600g

2. Varieties: Chin-Shin Dah-Pan vs. Bai Lu

CLASSIC

Chin-Shin Dah-Pan

  • Character Thick, Deep Base
  • Key Aroma Citrus, Longan, Ripe Fruit
MODERN

Bai Lu (TTES No. 17)

  • Character Fresh, High Aroma
  • Key Aroma Pekoe, Osmanthus, Ripe Fruit

3. Seasonal Flavors: Summer vs. Winter

We only produce tea in Summer (Mangzhong) and Winter, when the Green Leafhoppers are most active.

☀️

Summer (Mangzhong)

Rich & Intense

The highest quality season. The honey and ripe fruit aromas are at their most intense. This is the main season for competition-grade tea.

❄️

Winter (Dong Mei)

Elegant & Delicate

Due to lower temperatures, the tea soup is delicate, emphasizing "cold fragrance" and subtle sweetness. Refreshing and durable in brewing.

▲ Flavor Structure
